User experience
Pushing purposeful opt-ins to users

Examples
Happn
Happn asks users for an access to their location only when they need it to go further in the product, which clearly reduces onboarding friction.

Wolt
Wolt does not overwhelm users with a series of permission prompts (location, notification) during the onboarding. They rather ask for location and notification permission in context: location when you want to see the list of restaurants, and notification after placing your order to get updated on order status.

Kwit
Kwit pushes you the notification opt-in only after you complete the first session of journaling.
By doing so, users are more able to see the value of notifications and are more likely to opt-in.
