We download a lot of apps at a specific moment, when we need them. In this case, it is crucial to make core features of the app available within a few taps, if not during the onboarding.

Opal
Opal's onboarding ends with a suggestion to immediately block social media for 25 minutes. At this point, users have not seen the home page yet. Here is an interesting play to minimize the drop-off right after the onboarding. While users tend to leave the app when seeing the home page, this trick ensures a longer first session time and better first days retention.
